James' Baptism

My Sweet Boy. I can't believe he is 8 and making such a huge decision.

Proud Daddy

I love this kid!

Dad and Janice, thank you SO much for driving up for this special day. We loved seeing you and spending time together.
Grammy and Groge :) Grammy gave a wonderful closing prayer.
MiMi and Grandad. Grandad gave a fantastic talk about the Holy Ghost.

Thank you to everyone who came and made this day memorable. James said to me "Mom, everyone that I know is here for me!" A very special thanks to Sherilyn for taking on "Abby duty" I owe you big. You are a great friend! Thanks to Dustin and Larry for their great talks.
He was freezing when he came out of the font and there was a pretty good wait time after he got dunked. It was because Joe was trying to help warm him up so he didn't come into the room blue and shivering. The water was initially warm, but by the time they got in there it'd cooled off.
Oh and a cute story. I'd ordered his scriptures a while back. I knew I'd waited too long to order, but somehow I lost track of time. Anyhow, I'd come to terms with the fact that they wouldn't be here in time to give them to him today. We're getting ready this morning and as we're about to start loading up and the mail truck pulls up with his scriptures! I was so excited. Dad and Janice got him a really cool scripture bag and I was just hoping he'd have something to put in them today. Also the mail ran about 2 hours earlier than normal. So I'm also thankful for those small, but meaningful blessings.
Oh and those that attended will get this "Excuse me did you see a pair of shoes here?"
I gotta say I was bothered at the time, but it's goofy moments like that that make the best memories.
Thanks again everyone for supporting our family and for showing up to stand with James as he made his covenants with God. And thanks to those who couldn't be here but hold James up in prayer as he was taking this step.

Congratulations, James! He was a proud boy on Sunday when they called his name to stand up.

Sounds like a wonderful day! I enjoyed your lesson in RS and you're reflections on that day.
