Family Vacation!

So, having been preoccupied with a little thing called childbirth this summer our family didn't get to have our traditional get away. Thanks to the thoughtful planning of my step-mom and my dad we were able to enjoy a trip to Stone Mountain Georgia. Our combined families created quite a bit of confusion. People weren't sure if my brothers were my sons, my dad was my husband or if my husband was my brother. It was pretty funny. But ya know, it was Georgia so any of the previously mentioned combinations would have been perfectly acceptable. Enough jokes though. We had an amazing time. The cable car ride up the mountain was really amazing and my kids handled it way better than I did. Once we got to the top the temp dropped and everyone suddenly was glad I made them bring their heavy coats. The carving in the mountain was quite impressive even if I didn't know who they heck they were. We enjoyed the laser light show, a train ride(on a real train) and the beautiful Christmas decorations. We hope to make this a yearly trip for our family.

Since I grew up in GA I got a thorough helping of GA history, but I can't remember who is depicted on Stone Mt. I know it's someone from the Civil War (Gen. Lee maybe). But the intermarrying thing...I was always told that was Kentucky? Anyhow, good to see you've got a blog now.
