Megyn's Baptism!

My "baby" was Baptized today. I can't even begin to tell you how strange it feels. She is only 8 but has made one of the most important choices in her life. Everything came together well. Megyn got down in the water nearly jumped right out! I stuck my hand down to see if it was maybe too warm...nope FREEZING! I'd been telling Megyn for days that the water would be like a bath. I asked her how she felt when she got out and she promptly said through shivering lips "COLD!" I won't say who was in charge of the font, but I will say it wasn't me and Joe is NOT in the dog house...I'll leave it at that. We had great speakers full of emotion who were driven by the spirit. We had family and friends who came to show their support. I can think of a million things to do on any given Saturday and the fact that everyone who came sacrificed their time to be there just made me even more thankful for those relationships. During Karen's talk she said that everyone in the room had one thing in common...they love Megyn. And I had to really take that in for a moment. Everyone that was there does love her. She will remember those people as being at her Baptism for the rest of her life. She will need to lean on their testimony from time to time while hers grows. She might remember the cold water a little more vividly but this day in its entirety will stand out as one of the most important days in her life. Her family and her friends who supported her will stand out as those who helped build her spiritual foundation. My sister-in-law Hannah once talked about the importance of standing for what you believe in even if you are standing alone. I hope that we never feel like we have to stand alone. I hope that we are able to look around and know that when our testimony, our faith, our diligence runs weary that we can lean on the family and friends who have chosen to follow Gods path. Megyn is now among those who have made that choice. Joe and I are so unbelievably proud (and still a little stunned, to be honest)

I feel I need to take a moment and thank everyone for putting up with my 'crazies' during the past few days. Especially Joe who night after night listened to my 'should I do..., what if we..., how about...' as I tried to plan for every catasrophic thing that could happen. I think this deserves to be put into writing, Joe you were right it all worked out. Janice, Miriam, Cathy, Karen, Cheryl, Tammy, Kristie, Tricia thanks for all of the help, offers of help and even just an attentive ear. Another thanks to Cheryl for getting the dress made for us Oh and Larry, for taking the pictures!

Thanks to everyone!

*sniff* Baptisms are so special. We are 2 of 5 so far. They seem so small and so grown up.

Megyn you are such a special girl and have made a good choice to be baptized. The Holy Ghost will always be there to help you when you need. Don't forget that you also have some good parents too.

The youth and adults have to step up the bar.On all of your profiles ,whether it be myspace, friendster, blogger, project playlist, etc., show in two or more ways an example of your faith. Some ideas of this would be writing your testimony as an all about you or telling a bit about our belief. This is a great missionary tool. After doing so tell 5 or more friends of our faith about this challenge and ask them to try it.Then tell 5 or more friends not of our faith to read it.Remember have fun!!!
